AdvantageCare Rehabilitation Launches the G-TEAMSMNew group therapy service to help facilities comply with new Med A therapy billing rulesPITTSBURGH, PA – September 15, 2010 – AdvantageCare Rehabilitation, a leading therapy services provider to long-term care facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania, announced the launch of its new G-TEAMSM group therapy service while attending the 2010 Pennsylvania Health Care Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show being held September 14-16 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. The company’s new group therapy service will help client facilities comply with new Medicare rules that eliminate concurrent therapy billing practices, effective October 1, 2010. The G-TEAM service model provides a seven-day, individual and group therapy solution that complies with new Medicare rules without notably increasing staff or costs. “The therapy billing changes under MDS 3.0 and RUGS IV underscore the critical importance of understanding how delivering appropriate levels of care, achieving optimal patient outcomes and ensuring appropriate reimbursements are so closely connected,” said Amy Hancock, president of AdvantageCare Rehabilitation. “In today’s changing and complex healthcare environment, one of the best ways for long-term care facilities to ensure their continued financial health and stability is to work with a rehab services provider that not only provides excellent clinical services, but also understands this critical relationship and offers services, like The G-TEAM, to help them meet changing requirements without experiencing negative impacts on their residents or operations. As the saying goes, ‘We love it when a group comes together!” The new G-TEAM service provides group therapy services on a rotating basis to the different long-term care facilities that AdvantageCare serves. This combined and shared approach supports more effective therapy scheduling and reimbursements for the facilities, while delivering optimal resident-focused care. The G-Team therapy groups will be comprised of 2-4 patients with similar therapy needs and objectives, led by an AdvantageCare G-TEAM therapist.
